USES of HDMI Over Ethernet Extender

This is a product that has an increasing market driven by a number of factors

  • Max Length: The maximum run you have with a HDMI lead is normally 20m where this unit allows you achieve 50m with 1080P

  • Customise: It is not possible to alter the length of a HDMI lead but CAT5 cable can easily be cut to the required length in the field with basic RJ45 connectors, crimping tool & a roll of CAT5 cable

  • Pre-Cabled: Often customers wish to put their HD Satellite receiver in the a corner unit to feed a Flat screen TV hanging over the fire place. Such a set up may have CAT5 cables pre-wired or it may be possible to pull them through.

What Will I Also Possibly Need?

  • You will also clearly need;

    • Ethernet Cable (CAT5 or CAT6 Cable terminated with RJ45s)

    • HDMI Cables (to connect to satellite receiver on one end and TV on the other end)

ADVANTAGES of HDMI Over Ethernet Extender

  • This unit works a treat - does exactly what it says on the tin

  • Very easy to install - just plug & play

  • Allows you cut the cable to exactly the required length

  • Works over a 50m run length

  • This model supports IR for switching channels

  • This model supports local HDMI output - Transmitter unit must be powered up while using this

  • The IR control is bi-directional and can be swapped around (locally/remotely)

  • EDID functionality to resolve issues with non standard audio/video formats

  • Unlike other models of the HDMI over CAT5 Extender which require two CAT5 cables to be run, this model only requires a single CAT5 cable
